What are biscotti?
Biscotti are crunchy Italian dipping cookies. They are baked twice to give them a crunchy dry texture so they can be dipped in beverages such as coffee, tea, milk or wine. These centuries old cookies originated in Italy and are traditionally baked in almond, anisette and hazelnut flavors. Montione's Biscotti, however, bakes biscotti in fifteen Traditional and New England flavors plus seasonal varieties appealing to many tastes and pallettes.


Are Montione's Biscotti hard?
No. Montione's Biscotti are famous for both delicious taste and their easy-to-bite yet crunchy to dip texture. Montione's Biscotti absorb the beverage they are dipped into without falling apart giving you a pleasurable and satisfying taste sensation. Some biscotti are extremely hard and not so tasty because the recipe contains no fat. Many times recipes use no fat to cut costs or use a lesser quality alternative other than butter yielding less flavor and taste. At Montione's, we use just enough butter to impart a superb taste and crunch while keeping each piece lower in fat. Only 4 to 7 grams of fat per piece. Certain lowfat biscotti flavors use apple plum puree in place of butter yielding even less fat per piece and have a slightly different texture. What is the shelf life of Montione's Biscotti?
Montione's Biscotti have a natual shelf life of 16 weeks+. The shelf life can be extended if frozen.


Are Montione's Biscotti warehoused prior to ordering? No. We bake our orders fresh to order.

How well does Montione's Biscotti ship?
Montione's Biscotti ships extremely well. We package our biscotti in specially designed boxes with pillow bubble packs to cushion them against breakage. We ship to both homes and businesses. We can both ship a single case via UPS, as well as a pallet by truck.


What is your shipping policy?
We ship biscotti orders via UPS Ground. If you prefer UPS Overnight or 2nd Day Air, you can call our bakery to make special arrangements. We typically ship orders within 2-3 business days. Since we bake fresh daily in small batches, there may be a rare occurence when we might be temporarily out of a flavor. In this case, we will contact you to see if you would like to substitute another flavor or wait until the following week for delivery.


What is your return policy?
At Montione's Biscotti we strive for 100% satisfaction. Because of this, we rarely have calls for returns. If for some reason you are not satisfied, please call or email us within 5 business days of receiving your product. We will do our best to help you. We cannot issue refunds or returns in the instance that we were given an incorrect or undeliverable address. We cannot issue refunds or returns in the instance that a delivery arrives late as a result of an incorrect or undeliverable address that was given to us. Additional UPS fees may be charged to customers in the instance of address changes, corrections, etc. If your product was damaged in transit, please save the product and all packaging material and call or email us within 5 business days. We will contact UPS and they will start a claims investigation. We will also discuss return and replacement of the damaged portion of the product.


Will chocolate dipped/drizzled biscotti melt if shipped to hot temperature climates?
In temperatures over 72 degrees, our chocolate dipped/drizzled biscotti will melt. Also, chocolate dipped/drizzled biscotti will melt if kept inside a hot vehicle or direct hot sunlight, even if left for a few minutes. Think of our biscotti as a really nice box of chocolates from a specialty candy store. YOU ARE ORDERING THE BEST. Montione's Biscotti uses a very high quality, delicious tasting chocolate that we temper prior to dipping. While lengthy in time, tempering is a required process to prepare high quality flavorful melt-in-your-mouth chocolate for dipping. It is well worth the time and gives our chocolate its marvelous presentation and lustrous shine. If the chocolate melts, it will not return to its original presentation but will still maintain its flavor. Keep in mind, Montione's Biscotti offers other delicious alternatives while you wait for just the right time to order those chocolate dipped/drizzled biscotti!


Does Montione's Biscotti contain nuts, wheat, milk products, soy or chocolate?
Depending on the flavor, biscotti contains nuts, wheat, milk products, soy (soy lecithan added in chocolate as an emulsifier) or chocolate. All biscotti is manufactured in a bakery and on equipment that processes nuts, wheat, milk products, soy and chocolate. Montione's Biscotti does not make recommendations for flavors to select due to allergies.


Can Montione's Biscotti be frozen?
Yes. This will extend the shelf life and freshness of your biscotti. We recommend double bagging the biscotti prior to freezing.


How many grams of fat are in a biscotti?
